Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is an Indian actress, who gained popularity for her part in the film Hum Aapke Hin Koun and Beta Saajan. In the 80s, she began acting becoming popular due to her role of Tezaab in which she starred alongside veteran actor Anil Kapooor. Next, she appeared with Aamir as part of Dil. A middle-class family was raised in Mumbai she began learning to dance from an early age. At the age of 15 She began acting but had a difficult time as a majority of her film projects were not successful. Then she found her feet and eventually became one of the top actors in the Indian film industry. Following her marriage the actress took time to rest from her acting career until she returned. Recently, she had an important part in the movie Gulaab Gang which was about the struggle of women in India. Dixit has been nominated for the fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she received eight. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honor in India. Her charitable work is well-known.
